Can Nutritional Therapy help you?
We all have the right to feel well. We often put up with symptoms for years not knowing their cause, unable to find the root of the problem or an effective way to manage the discomfort. These symptoms can get in the way of everyday life and work and provide a constant cause of stress.
Nutritional Therapy is an effective strategy to alleviate many of these symptoms. When we fully understand how nutrients impact the biochemical functions in our bodies we can see how vital good nutrition and lifestyle choices are. Good nutrition influences the inner workings of all our cells, the health of our hormones, the efficiency of our enzymes and the function of all of our organs. When the body gives us signs, in the form of symptoms, it’s important to recognise these as a message that warrants investigation. Nutritional Therapy looks at these signs holistically and uses evidence-based medical research to uncover the underlying cause. With this information, we can formulate a manageable strategy to promote your health and bring the body into balance.
I am a Registered Nutritional Therapist and a health retreat leader but I haven’t always been! My former career was in music and events. For many years I travelled the world burning the candle at both ends and experienced first hand how a stressful job and unhealthy lifestyle can exacerbate underlying symptoms.
Throughout my 20s and 30s, I experienced an array of health challenges ranging from IBS to mood issues, female hormone symptoms, and skin disturbances. Despite countless visits to the doctor, I was unable to resolve these issues long term and they deeply affected my quality of life. I decided to do my own research and with the help of a nutritional therapist, I was able to bring my body and mind into balance and manage the symptoms that had long been troubling me. This was extremely empowering and knowing first hand how I could improve my health, I felt compelled to learn more and share this knowledge with others. I felt in control of my health and that is a wonderful feeling!
After studying at the Institute of Optimal Nutrition, in London, I set up my clinic in East London. I’m a member of the British Association of Nutrition & Lifestyle Medicine and the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council and I regularly participate in additional training to keep up to date on the latest research. Recently I’ve completed further training in the perimenopause and neural inflammation (that causes many seemingly unrelated symptoms) and continue to regularly attend webinars on gut and hormone health.
