Cucumber Fields is a beautifully formed, relaxed and welcoming venue where you can nurture your physical and emotional wellbeing. It comprises a spacious yoga studio and is surrounded by peaceful countryside. The smaller class sizes ensure fully you are supported in your practice and can enjoy the spacious environment. The venue is stunning and nestled in beautiful countryside and by taking a whole day out to focus on your wellbeing, our intention is that by the end of the day you’ll feel rested and restored.

The Yoga
Yoga provides a myriad of benefits when it comes to managing hormones and energy levels for both pre and post-menopause. De-stressing is critical to balancing the hormones that affect our moods, and energy and the meditative nature of yoga is a powerful tool in calming our psychological state.
Our stress (adrenal) glands come under enormous pressure at this time and dysfunction in this area is a strong contributing factor to a number of symptoms ranging from energy issues to anxiety. Yoga helps manage these symptoms as well as those pesky hot flushes that can be so debilitating.
Jess Horn is a very experienced teacher and skilful at teaching groups whilst at the same time making sure people have the individual support they need. You don’t need to have had any previous yoga or meditation experience to benefit from the programme.
Meditation is a key tool to aid stress reduction and the benefits of this ancient practice are now backed with modern science. It shows the positive effects on the stress pathways in the brain. Meditation will be a key part of the retreat and you will have the tools you need to continue a practice at home. A guided practice takes place both in the mornings and in the evenings and we know from feedback how deeply relaxing and beneficial this is.

Nutrition
What we eat and drink really is crucial for happy hormones. Our hormones play a part in the health of our hair, skin, libido, weight, muscle tone and much more besides! As fluctuations happen, it’s important to make sure our nutrient intake is optimal and that we are mindful of the less favourable lifestyle choices we may make. Knowledge is power and understanding what is going on in your body, and how to manage changes is empowering and puts you in the driver’s seat. This retreat will provide you with the knowledge and the tools to manage your symptoms more effectively and move through the changes with more grace and ease.
At our last retreat we explored the symptoms as a group, shared experiences and tips and went home armed with new information. The guests enjoyed the informal nature of the workshops and felt better informed in terms of how their bodies were behaving. We explored topics most important to the health of women and plan similar workshops exploring hormones, fasting, weight management and much more next time.

Non-refundable, and cancellation charges will apply:
90 days or more before: Deposit only
60-90 days before: 75% of retreat cost unless we can fill your place
Less than 60 days before: 100% of retreat cost unless we can fill your place
In the event of the retreat being cancelled due to Covid lockdown or government policy, we will offer a credit to a future retreat within the next 18 months or a full refund to be issued at such time that the venue returns the deposit to the organisers. Insurance is recommended. If you are unwell or have any symptoms please do not attend the retreat.
