I want to feel myself again
Your transitionary phase can start as young as your late 30s but you may remain unaware that this is the cause of your symptoms for some time. By the time your periods have stopped for 12 months and you are officially in menopause, you are likely to know exactly what is going on.
What’s going on?
The changes that occur in a woman’s body around perimenopause and menopause are significant. Some women experience mild symptoms whilst for others, symptoms are debilitating. HRT is a help to some but not a panacea and many women still experience symptoms despite increasing their hormones. For many others, HRT is not an option. The good news is that there are lots of dietary and lifestyle strategies we can employ to help.
Work with me
No two women are the same and whilst general strategies for menopause can have many positive impacts, they may not be enough to help all of us. This is when an individualised approach is needed. Nutritional Therapy takes a holistic view, looking at a person’s health history, existing symptoms, and medication including HRT. What works for one person doesn’t necessarily work for another and factors such as gut health, sleep, stress and our own genetic makeup all play a part.
Do you recognise some of these symptoms?
Hot Flushes.. Brain Fog.. Joint Pain.. Mood Issues.. Anxiety… Weight Gain.. Vaginal Dryness.. Dry Skin.. Itchy Eyes.. Fatigue.. Forgetfulness
All women are affected differently and, to different degrees. Some may have underlying or concomitant health conditions or susceptibilities that contribute to symptoms, such as high blood pressure or hypothyroidism. This is why personalised nutrition programmes can be so beneficial. In many cases these symptoms can be greatly improved with food and lifestyle choices.
